Towards a more inclusive society to raise awareness of basic skills gaps

In the Netherlands, 2.5 million people struggle daily with reading, writing, math, and digital skills, also called basic skills. These deficiencies make it difficult for them to fully participate in society, such as reading and understanding a letter or buying a train ticket, leading to various personal and societal problems.

Given the current structure of the care system in The Netherlands, which may not be sustainable for the future. This is due to factors such as a large elderly population, rising costs, financial constraints, and a structural lack of formal and informal caregivers, the objective is to address this complex issue. A fundamentally different approach is required to reshape the caregiving system in The Netherlands. 

Assignment

In this challenge, we aim to bring people together from diverse sectors including industry, government, academic institutions, caregivers, and their clients/patients to tackle wicked problems within the Dutch care industry. Our goal is to explore the establishment and sustenance of a multidisciplinary team comprising individuals with varied backgrounds to effect positive, disruptive and sustainable impact. To achieve this, we are seeking an intern who is willing to take on the following tasks:

We are looking for:

HBO student: From 3rd year – preferably 4th year

With a background in Industrial Design, Social Design, Business Innovation, Psychology, Medical Technology
