Water is becoming the new gold. Long dry periods are increasingly followed by heavy rainfall, which means we need to rethink how we manage water. Instead of draining it away as quickly as possible, we should focus on retaining, reusing, and sharing it wisely.
At the same time, the Brainport region continues to grow fast, increasing the demand for water. But this growth no longer fits within our current infrastructure. That is why Rijkswaterstaat and regional partners are exploring a new kind of water system: regenerative, living, and smart.
Stan Kerkhofs from Rijkswaterstaat and Eindhoven Engine will explore with you how to engage citizens not only as participants but as active leaders who help shape this future-proof water system. How can we inspire people to take ownership, and how can governments follow their lead?
