He will outline EY’s vision for participatory healthcare where patients, healthcare professionals and intelligent machines collaborate. He will also emphasize the significance of international data standards and discuss how they facilitate the creation of open ecosystems. These ecosystems present vast opportunities for startups to develop innovative solutions to keep people healthy and ensure healthcare accessibility for all. With a background in information science following AI classes in the early 90s, he will also shed his views on the future of AI.

Biography Erik Vermeulen
Erik assists health organizations in realizing their strategic ambitions and the introduction or scaling of modern technologies. This means connected and virtual care, health platforms, big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
Together with a team of experienced professionals, he provides health organizations strategic insight and execution power, leveraging in-depth knowledge of health care operations and advanced technology. Erik is EY Global Health Technology Leader and leads the Health Consulting team at EY Netherlands.
