Innovator in the Spotlight

Towards a more inclusive society to raise awareness of basic skills gaps

In the Netherlands, 2.5 million people struggle daily with reading, writing, math, and digital skills, also called basic skills. These deficiencies make it difficult for them to fully participate in society, such as reading and understanding a letter or buying a train ticket, leading to various personal and societal problems.

Brainport Digital Twin: Data Architecture and Technology internships

Lines

The problems that impact our world today are complex. The urgency with which they present themselves necessitates rapid breakthrough innovation. The Eindhoven Engine has taken on this challenge and strives to improve the innovation speed in the Brainport Region.

Are you ready to contribute to the future of urban development and address societal challenges with advanced data analysis and technology? The Brainport Digital Twin is looking for motivated graduate students who want to work on realizing a groundbreaking digital twin of the Brainport region!

About the Brainport Digital Twin

The Brainport region faces major challenges such as energy transition, environmental problems and population growth. To tackle these challenges effectively, we need a data-driven approach. The Brainport Digital Twin aims to develop an integrated model of the Brainport region that can support various societal issues. With this digital twin, crucial decisions can be better informed and accurate models and data can be used.

Graduation projects

We offer several challenging graduation assignments for both Fontys students and students from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). As a graduate student at the Brainport Digital Twin, you will have the opportunity to work on the following projects:

Fontys graduate students:

  • Research and develop database architecture for combining various datasets in terms of time, geography, scope and quality.
  • Investigate and develop visualization methods for multidimensional data to understand the impact of different choices.
  • Investigate and implement AI methods for finding correlations between different application domains (e.g., air quality and traffic)
  • Investigate and set up a governance structure for the Brainport Digital Twin.

TU/e graduate students:

  • Setting up a scalable architecture for an integral, multidimensional digital twin of the Brainport region.
  • Develop a data exchange protocol and architecture for the integration of diverse data in terms of time, geography, scope and quality

What we offer
